Catherine Abadie Reynel archologist the leader of the French team working in zeugma for the past five years reffects her opinion in the following phrases. My main distress is to see that is too late for a lot of things. Everyone knew five years ago that this day would come. What we did was emergency digs. But there is no emergency dig tridition here. Its obvious that things would quide not be run like this in France. When the Dam project was planned bing the archaological and ecological risk factors have not been taken into consideration. Antique Historical Vintage Clip Art Map Collection Releasing

antiquehistoricalmaps.blogspot.com I am a lot like the customers I talk to every day, I have loved maps, including antique and historical maps my whole life. I have been using them in the other half of my life, my graphic designer half. I love the feeling and the romance they give to my assignments. I like thinking about the ancient times and how different the world was then. I also enjoy looking at the drawings the cartographers put in their maps, the ships, the sea monsters, especially the sea monsters, all the decorative elements, it takes me back centuries and to places around the world. Wondering how could these guys draw these maps with out the use of satellites, or planes or even photography, just stories and tales, They add so much to my life, sometimes more to life than to my projects. We receive calls all the time from graphic designers, web designers, history teachers, all kinds of folks looking for vintage antique maps. I have always wanted to help but haven't been able to offer a variety of antique maps. Trying to find historical maps for my clients has always been a problem, getting good quality royalty free maps without any rights issues that are of high enough resolution that I could use for any type of project. Looking for vintage maps that will print well for both electronic, printing and web use. Clymer 1958 Vespa GS 1952 Lambretta Mark I 1 1961 Cushman Vintage Antique Classic Scooter Motorcycle

www.clymer.com 800-262-1954 http Lambretta was a line of motor scooters originally manufactured in Milan, Italy by Innocenti but also manufactured under licence by Société Industrielle de Troyes (SIT) in France, NSU in Germany, Serveta in Spain, API in India, Pasco in Brazil, Auteca in Colombia and Siambretta in Argentina. In 1972, the Indian government bought the Milanese factory and the rights to the Lambretta name, creating Scooters India Limited (SIL). Today, the Innocenti brand name rights are owned by Fiat whereas the oldest Lambretta and Lambro trademark registrations are owned by Lambretta Consortium and are licensed to various companies who want association with the iconic brand. Like Vespas, Lambrettas have 3 or 4 gears and two stroke motors with capacities ranging from 49cc to 198cc. Unlike the Vespa, which was built with a unibody chassis pressed from sheets of steel, Lambrettas were based around a tubular frame, although the J series model produced from 1964 through 1971 did have a monocoque body. Early versions were available in closed, with fully covered mechanicals or open, with minimal panels and thus looking like an unusual motorcycle. The model A and model B were only available in open style. The D models were noted for their torsion bar rear suspension, the D model outsold every other 2 wheeled vehicle combined at its peak. Along with the Vespa, Lambretta was an iconic vehicle of the 1950s and 1960s when they became the adopted vehicle of choice for ...

BOTANICAL GEM PRESSED FLOWERS HANNAH S. LYMAN 1877 Holyrood Abby

This is a scrap book created by a woman named Hannah S. Lyman in 1877. She travelled to many European gardens back in then I think to revisit where her late aunt had been. This album was found in an old book store in Ipswich Massachusetts. I believe it to have been put together by Hannah W. Lymans niece. Hannah W. Lyman was the Principal Lady @ Vassar College when it was founded. She herself travelled to these locations and in the book itself it is noted on one of the pressed floral arrangements "My Aunt Hannahs Garden" I've held onto this for many years and felt before anything happened to it I should document it and try to find a home for it. I feel it as an heirloom of botanical heritage artifacts. Books with this much personality are not published but pleasant reminders of the past, pressed in the pages of a book then passed on or found. Antique books like this offer fascinating glimpses of lives that have long since ended, I am impressed with the pressed flowers in this book. Some still hold the color they once had when picked so long ago. What a treasure this is. I am just the gaurdian for a time and hope to pass it on to someone who will guard and keep it and love it as much as i have over the years. Some of the gardens these florals came from are the following: Crystal Palace The Queens Garden (Dairy) Holyrood Abby Edinburgh Laburnum Botanical Garden Greyfriars Garden Wick Castle Dryburgh Abbey Melrose Abby Abottsford Palace Holyrood Endinburgh Scotland Laburnum ...

Ivey Abitz Spring Prelude 2009

Take a peek at the Ivey Abitz Spring Prelude 2009 Collection. Drawing upon styles ranging from depression era immigrant garments to european upper class attire from the 1800's, New York designer Cynthia Ivey Abitz gathered glimpses of these time periods and visually combined them with present-day sensibilities. She creates with the idea that the purpose of garments should be to celebrate everyday life while respecting ourselves and those around us through the way we dress. Juxtapositions within the collection develop this idea, seen in the combination of homespun-like textured linen in trousers worn alongside brocade jackets, or the purposely crumpled pleats worn in a silk taffeta. The result is a collection filled with versatile new designs and fabric meant for sublime once-in-a-lifetime occasions, as well as casual everyday wear. The same garments can be worn for all occasions in life, depending upon how they are mixed together. You can see the Ivey Abitz look book and shop at IveyAbitz.com.

Hindu Temple, India by Asiatravel.com

For Bookings: www.asiatravel.com For More Video: book.asiatravel.com A Hindu ( pronunciation (help·info), Devanagari: हिन्दू) is an adherent of Hinduism, a set of religious, philosophical and cultural systems that originated in the Indian subcontinent. The vast body of Hindu scriptures, divided into Śruti ("revealed") and Smriti ("remembered"), lay the foundation of Hindu beliefs which primarily include dhárma, kárma, ahimsa and saṃsāra. Vedānta and yoga are one of the several core schools of Hindu philosophy, broadly known as the Sanatan Dharm (Hindi: सनातन धर्म). Hinduism is regarded as the oldest of world's major religions[1] and Hindu mythology and philosophy has had a profound impact in many parts of the world, especially southern and South East Asia. With more than a billion adherents, Hinduism is the world's third largest religion. Vast majority of Hindus, approximately 1 billion, live in India.[2] Other countries with large Hindu populations can be found in various parts of the world. The word Hindu first appeared in the Old Persian language which was derived from the Sanskrit word Sindhu, the historic local appellation for the Indus River in the northwestern part of the Indian subcontinent.[3] The usage of the word Hindu was further popularized by the Arabic term al-Hind referring to the land of the people who live across river Indus.[4] By 13th century, Hindustān emerged as a popular alternative name of India, meaning the "land of Hindus".[5 ...

Georgetown, Penang by Asiatravel.com

For Bookings: www.asiatravel.com For More Video: book.asiatravel.com George Town[1] or Georgetown[2], is the capital of the state of Penang in Malaysia. Named after Britain's King George III, George Town is located on the north-east corner of Penang Island and has about 220000 inhabitants, or about 400000 including the suburbs. Formerly a municipality and then a city in its own right, since 1976 George Town has been part of the municipality of Penang Island, though the area formerly governed by the city council is still commonly referred to as a city, and is also known as Tanjung ("The Cape") in Malay and 喬治市(Qiáozhì Shì) in Chinese. The inner city of George Town is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. George Town was founded in 1786 by Captain Francis Light, a trader for the British East India Company, as base for the company in the Malay States. He obtained the island of Penang from the Sultan of Kedah and built Fort Cornwallis on the north-eastern corner of the island. The fort became the nexus of a growing trading post and the island's population reached 12000 by 1804. The town was built on swampy land that had to be cleared of vegetation, levelled and filled. The original commercial town was laid out between Light Street, Beach Street (then running close to the seashore), Malabar Street (subsequently called Chulia Street) and Pitt Street (now called Masjid Kapitan Keling Street). The warehouses and godowns extended from Beach Street to the sea. By the 1880s, there were ...

Art Exibition, India by Asiatravel.com

For Bookings: www.asiatravel.com For More Video: book.asiatravel.com The culture of India has been shaped by its long history, unique geography, diverse demographics and the absorption of customs, traditions and ideas from some of its neighbours as well as by preserving its ancient heritages, which were formed during the Indus Valley Civilization and evolved further during the Vedic age, rise and decline of Buddhism, Golden age, Muslim conquests and European colonization. India's great diversity of religious practices, languages, customs, and traditions are examples of this unique co-mingling over the past five millennia. The various religions and traditions of India that were created by these amalgamations have influenced other parts of the world too. India is the birth place of Dharmic religions such as Hinduism, Buddhism, Jainism and Sikhism.[2] Dharmic religions, also known as Indian religions, is a major form of world religions next to the Abrahamic ones. Today, Hinduism and Buddhism are the world's third- and fourth-largest religions respectively, with around 1.4 billion followers altogether. India is one of the most religiously diverse nations in the world, with some of the most deeply religious societies and cultures. Religion still plays a central and definitive role in the life of most of its people. The religion of more than 80.4% of the people is Hinduism. Islam is practiced by around 13.4% of all Indians.[3] Sikhism, Jainism and especially Buddhism are ...
